Frequently asked questions
- How do I set up blinds for a home poker tournament?
- Pick how long you want the tournament to run and how many minutes each level lasts, then start the big blind near 1% of the starting stack (about 100 big blinds deep) and raise it each level. This calculator does all of that for you and gives a printable schedule.
- How long should each blind level be?
- For a casual home game, 15–20 minutes per level keeps things moving; longer 20–30 minute levels give more play. Shorter levels make the tournament end sooner.
- Should I use antes?
- Antes speed the game up and build bigger pots. They're optional — toggle them on and this tool adds a big-blind ante from level three onward.
